However, I believe that focusing solely on age overlooks other important aspects of road safety. Stricter driving tests, which include practical skills and hazard perception, could be more effective. Additionally, ongoing driver education programs that emphasize defensive driving techniques and the dangers of distracted driving would benefit all age groups. In many countries, the current licensing process might not adequately prepare new drivers for real-world conditions, regardless of their age.
In conclusion, although raising the minimum driving age could contribute to safer roads by ensuring drivers are more mature, it is not the single best approach. A comprehensive strategy involving improved driver training, more rigorous testing, and continuous education for all drivers would ultimately be more impactful in enhancing overall road safety.
