Road transport dominated the allocation, receiving 42% of the total funds. Rail transport was the second most funded category, accounting for 29%. Together, these two forms of transport represented a significant majority of the EU's spending in this sector.
Air transport took up 16% of the funds, which was noticeably less than rail. Water transport received only 9%, while the remaining 4% was spent on 'Other' forms of transport, making it the smallest share.
