The bar chart illustrates the total volume of telephone calls made in the United States, measured in billions of minutes, across four distinct categories.

Overall, local landline calls accounted for by far the largest share of minutes, whereas international landline calls represented the smallest proportion. The data shows a clear distinction between the high usage of local landlines and the other less used categories.

Specifically, local landline calls reached 420 billion minutes, which was significantly higher than any other type. In contrast, international landline calls recorded only 45 billion minutes. National landline calls were also much lower than local calls, standing at 160 billion minutes.

Mobile phone calls represented the second-largest category, with a total of 210 billion minutes. This figure was almost five times higher than international landline calls and also exceeded national landline calls by 50 billion minutes. However, mobile call duration was still substantially less than that for local landline connections.
